Another WordPress PowWeb Theme

I always get excited when PowWeb launches or tries new things. Well today, we’re doing just that by launching three new fresh WordPress Themes for you to enjoy.

As with anything new, we faced some new challenges we had to overcome; nothing too drastic though. After all, we’re only talking about creating themes for the most popular blogging engine in existence.

Finding a decent designer who had time to devote to our project was indeed the first and most important task we undertook. Could we have designed the themes ourselves? Sure! But it never hurts to seek out a resource whose perspective isn’t directly related to selling web hosting. What I mean is that we wanted someone who hasn’t been staring at the PowWeb site for the past four years; someone whose sole job is to be a designer and someone who has a proven track record of designing sites that meet or exceed our standards.

Architexture DesignWhen Jamie McCue of Architexture responded to a listing I placed in CSS Beauty, I knew we had found the right guy.

“Architexture is a creative studio located in the backwoods of central Vancouver Island. An internet connection and a fresh pot of coffee ensure Architexture is the premier design company in the middle of nowhere.”

A studio in the middle of no where with some serious CSS/XHTML skills? Perfect. Hey, I’m all about finding a diamond in the rough. If that diamond happens to sparkle from backwoods of Vancouver, so be it. Basically, the timing was perfect. We were able to find Architexture before the firm gained so much popularity that we had to wait in line and pay so much money that our wallets bled.

When presented with the idea of creating some WordPress themes for PowWeb, Architexture quickly exclaimed, “Let’s do it!”

And that’s how we found a decent designer for our WordPress themes.

So, without further adieu, we’re proud to offer to the public the first three PowWeb WordPress themes.

If you’d like to see the themes in action, just check out http://themes.powweb.com. You should be able to switch between the themes pretty easily.

If you find a bug or have any feedback, please leave them in the comments. Enjoy.

I like to looks of Mystic, though I’m not much of a fan of 2 column themes. Boombastic is to dark for me, but I think a border around it and a lighter color outside of the main content would help. Powweb has a good look to it, plus I like the tabbed links on top. All in all a good start. Maybe some 3 column for next time.

where are the folders (wp-content/themes/) located into which the files are to be copied, and how do i access them?

  4. Steve Says:

I can’t get the image alignment to change in Boombastic
/* Using ‘class=”alignright”‘ on an image will (who would’ve
thought?!) align the image to the right. And using ‘class=”centered’,
will of course center the image. This is much better than using
align=”center”, being much more futureproof (and valid) */
The code is there but it does nothing.
